"there's no use going back to yesterday because i was a different person then"

I am so sick of Sunday Christians, Ramadan Muslims, Hanukkah Jews etc standing around saying that they’re better than other people and actually act like their religion teaches them to act. I know far too many of you. If you’re going to sit there and preach about a religion and how people should live but then go out and sleep with random people, get wasted, cuss, try various drugs, etc then go get stuffed.

I don’t understand the logic of it all. Don’t sit there and tell me how devout you are, post stuff on Facebook about it, attend mass/mosque/temple/whatever every week and then go out and do the exact things you preach against. I can’t stand fake people like you.

Just now I logged on to Facebook and was lurking one of my good friends, a Christian, and noticed a post from a girl I’ve known most of my life preaching about how people need to stop blaming God for their troubles and how he’s there for our suffering and that people should pray and live in His way. This same girl has slept with countless guys, gets wasted every weekend and all kinds of fun stuff like that but then also attends youth groups, goes on Christian conferences and states that she’s devout. She always ‘repents’ and says that she’ll stop and then tell people she has ended her ways but then I get to hear about the guy from last night (any night really), not that she’ll remember his name. Our mutual friends only continue to deal with you because they’re good people and like to think that you’ll stop someday. I’ve tried to stand by her for too many years and I don’t think I can any longer, her attitude is toxic and I don’t want to be brought down there again.

It’s ridiculous. Stop stating that you’re a religious person if you’re just going to go against everything you preach, it’s completely wrong. If you state that you’re a believer of a certain religion but then do those things, then sure that’s fine. You don’t have to follow every single rule to be a Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Hindu, Jew, Buddhist etc in order to truly believe what you learn. You can still be a follower but not necessarily follow it to a T. But don’t act like you’re better than other people and that you’re one of the few ‘real’ ones. We’re all supposed to love eachother and accept others for their beliefs are we not? Stop judging others when you do the exact same thing, it’s hard to watch.

I’m trying to stand above it all but sometimes it’s hard.
